Hot off the Grill

When it rains, it pours.

No we're not referring to the rain outside Burger Base today, but to the praise for our chips. Last week it was the Melbourne Magazine (see below), this week it was A Current Affair of all places. Grill'd came out on top in a national 'chip taste test' challenge. We're honoured to share the stage with the home made chips from eighty-four-year-old chip cooking veteran Margaret Mathews. If you're interested in the seeing more, you can check it out here. Thanks to everyone for the kind words.

"Are we desperate to go back? Yes."

The February 2010 Age Melbourne Magazine has hit the shelves and features their take on the best chips in Melbourne, including a review on our fine offering. For the Matt Prestons out there, the review of Grill'd chips includes the kind words: "Uniformly excellent with good crunch, a fresh, steamy interior and lots of textural variety". In other words, they think they're pretty damn good, and with a rating of 8 out of 10, this puts us up there with the best around. We're glad you like them. CLICK HERE to check out the article.

2010 - The Future

Well here we are in 2010. We've survived the New Year and Christmas parties (just.....).

Our thoughts have well and truly turned to the new year and what lies ahead. Like many, the idea of New Year's resolutions starts to come to mind.

We came across a recent report that found more than three-quarters of Aussies are placing greater importance on maintaining or improving their health. This latest research, conducted by independent Australian market analyst Datamonitor, reported that nearly three quarters of Aussies are also making a conscious effort to eat healthily most of the time.

That's great news. Our resolution and commitment to you in 2010 is that we’ll continue to fight the fast-food peddlers out there by delivering a quality alternative that is both fresh and nutritious.

And what about Grill'd in 2010? We like surprises, so we won't give the full game away right here, right now. Let's just say that you are going to find Grill'd popping up in some new places, including some you've never even thought of! We've got plenty of tricks up our sleeves, so watch this space!

We love burgers, but only in America could you find some of the bizarre creations featured in the link below. We promise you won't see any of these creations at your local Grill'd. Mmmmmmm...........pumpkin burger anyone!?????

"There ain't no party like a Grill'd Christmas Party"

One of our staff summed it up perfectly.

And given we are well and truly in the midst of silly season, this time of year just wouldn't be complete without a Grill'd Christmas Party. So, over the last week our staff have been letting their hair down to celebrate a big year at Grilld.

We love a good party, and each year our Christmas shindig seems to get even better. Staff from each of our local Grill'd stores have to choose a fancy dress theme, and this year we saw cowboys and indians, robots and sailors (to name a few) all come together for the big night, oh, and a few cross-dressers were thrown in the mix too.

With a massive dancefloor and our own DJ's spinning party favourites all night, we're pretty sure a good time was had by all. Next time you're in your local Grill'd don't be afraid to ask them their theme for the night. Who knows, you may be being served by a closet robot or sailor.........or cross dresser.
