"There ain't no party like a Grill'd Christmas Party"

One of our staff summed it up perfectly.

And given we are well and truly in the midst of silly season, this time of year just wouldn't be complete without a Grill'd Christmas Party. So, over the last week our staff have been letting their hair down to celebrate a big year at Grilld.

We love a good party, and each year our Christmas shindig seems to get even better. Staff from each of our local Grill'd stores have to choose a fancy dress theme, and this year we saw cowboys and indians, robots and sailors (to name a few) all come together for the big night, oh, and a few cross-dressers were thrown in the mix too.

With a massive dancefloor and our own DJ's spinning party favourites all night, we're pretty sure a good time was had by all. Next time you're in your local Grill'd don't be afraid to ask them their theme for the night. Who knows, you may be being served by a closet robot or sailor.........or cross dresser.

What an effort...

Here at Grill’d we’ve come across an incredible fundraising story from Movember that we think is worth celebrating…

Craig Farrell, a member of Victoria Police, recently rode from Geelong to Cairns to raise money and awareness for men’s health issues via the Movember charity. Craig covered over 3,000 kilometres and raised nearly $15,000 while riding his bike approximately 160 kilometres each day – often in extreme heat exceeding 40 degrees Celsius.

Craig reached Cairns after 19 days, but because of his incredible efforts he missed out on our offer of one free burger per day for 13 days during Movember.

Craig, we’re pretty sure you’ve worked up a mean appetite from that ride, and to ensure you don’t miss out on claiming free, delicious Grill’d burgers we’re sending you some belated ‘Tash Tickets’ to reward your amazing efforts. On behalf of everyone at Grill’d, congratulations mate!

The stories behind the mo

We've been busy here at Burger Base since Movember wrapped up for 2009. For starters, we've had to shave off the upper lip artwork we had all carefully cultivated over the last month. Some were happy to be free of the Mo, whilst others parted with their mo's regretfully. One staff member even took bereavement leave over his loss, such is our dedication to the cause!

Aside from whipping out the razors, we've also been busy asking all our Mo Bros for some feedback on their local Grill'd experience during Movember. Thanks to everyone for your comments. As a special treat we've included some of the funnier responses below:

"Walking into Grill'd to pick up my MoBro burgers was like visiting a biker bar back in the 1970's. The place was wall to wall with fully furred MoBro's all with silly grins on their faces cause they were chompin into free burgers... It was a bit scary actually. Well done Grill'd. I thank you from the bottom of my prostate.”

“I loved getting burger bits stuck in my mo! Made it last a little longer!”

“I'm sure it wasn't difficult for the Grill'd team to keep a smile on their face with all the comical appearances they were confronted with, but I thoroughly enjoyed popping in to get my burger. It was a real boost to have that level of support and to be part of the congregation of mo bros queuing out the door! Thank you to all involved.”

“I had never been to Grill'd before Movember, and even though the horde of moustached men made it look more like a gay bar than a burger bar I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of the burger, and more importantly the friendliness of the staff.”

There you have it, evidence from some of our Mo Bro’s that Grill'd was indeed a haven for Mo Bros throughout the month. A place where men regardless of age, race or mo growing ability could come together for a common cause and enjoy a damn fine burger (on us of course).

Thumbs Up!
