Good deeds done
Our team at Karrinyup were lucky enough to help the Perth Homeless Support Group (PSHG).
PHSG has been supporting those experiencing homelessness, or at risk of homelessness, in Perth since 2014. The group is completely run by volunteers, each passionate about taking a hands-on approach to pursuing social justice in their community. Some of the amazing things they do include rescue hampers, busy bees, outreach services, and employment programs.
A few years back, our team out in Karrinyup took time off flippin’ burgers to volunteer at PSHG’s weekly outreach service, handing out fresh food, tea, drinks, toiletries, and various clothing to over 208 people experiencing homelessness.
Each of the 208 people were handed an empty bag which they could fill with whatever they wanted, but often the team were met with “No thank you, I’ll only take what I need” which they found incredibly wholesome and heart-warming.
“It was an amazing experience to see first-hand where our donations are going, and it filled our hearts knowing how grateful they are for our support,” said the team at Karrinyup.
This is only the beginning of the partnership between Grill’d Karrinypu and PHSG, and it’s exciting to think how this relationship will raise awareness to those experiencing homelessness!
